197 Church Street is a significant mixed-use development in the centre of Parramatta, bringing together a 32-storey five star Inter Continental Hotel and a slender 25 storey commercial tower above a new retail podium. Positioned within the heart of Parramatta CBD, the project plays an important role in the continued evolution of the city as a major commercial and lifestyle destination.
Working closely with the project team through the master planning and design phases, we helped shape the retail vision for the precinct, defining the role of luxury retail, upmarket hospitality and conferencing aligned with the ambitions of the InterContinental Hotel and the adjoining commercial tower. The strategy establishes a refined ground plane that supports both the visitor economy and Parramatta’s growing business district.
Our work focused on optimising the ground floors and podium levels to ensure the retail environment contributes meaningfully to the broader urban setting, reinforcing the development’s position within Parramatta’s established dining and retail precinct while supporting the next phase of growth for the CBD.
