The Hume in Crows Nest is a boutique residential project by Winten Property Group, set within one of the Lower North Shore’s most established food and village precincts. Designed as a collection of apartments above a small number of ground floor hospitality spaces, the project offered a simple but important opportunity to bring the street to life with operators who felt genuinely connected to the neighbourhood.

Our role was focused on retail leasing and delivery, working alongside the Winten development team to find the right hospitality partners and help bring the venues to life. The outcome was two distinct local businesses: Knird, an intimate wine bar and diner by Andrew Day, and Double Cross Dining Room, the much loved Crows Nest café and dining room by Samuel Lee and Quinton Ng.

Together, the two venues have given The Hume a strong local identity. Knird brings a relaxed and grown up wine bar experience built around good wine, warm service and neighbourhood regulars. Double Cross has become known for its generous café culture and Asian influenced dining. It is a small project, but a good example of how the right operators can give a building presence, personality and a genuine place in the daily life of a suburb.
