The Grand, Gosford

The Grand is a mixed use development located at the southern end of Mann Street in Gosford, positioned within the city’s historic waterfront precinct. Set among a collection of early civic and sandstone buildings that define Gosford’s original town centre, the project brings together residential, retail and public domain to contribute to the renewal of this important heritage setting.

Working closely with the architects, we helped shape the vision for the ground floor and broader master planning, with a focus on creating an active and engaging public interface. A key component of the strategy involved working with the heritage fabric of the site and surrounding precinct, where historic sandstone buildings and early civic uses form part of Gosford’s original commercial core. These elements provided an opportunity to unlock value through adaptive reuse, positioning heritage as a central part of the experience rather than a constraint.

Our approach centred on transforming this heritage context into a series of hospitality driven spaces, supported by new landscaping and outdoor dining. By integrating a network of venues across the ground plane, the strategy creates a layered and activated environment that connects to the waterfront and reinforces the character of Mann Street South as a refined dining and lifestyle destination. The result is a cohesive precinct where heritage and contemporary use combine to shape a vibrant and enduring place.
