The Joinery is a major mixed use redevelopment on Parramatta Road in Annandale, transforming a government owned site into a new residential and neighbourhood precinct. The first stage BTR tower is being delivered by Landcom, and further stages introduces a series of residential buildings organised around an active ground plane set back off one of Sydney’s most significant urban corridors.

The first stage of the project is the delivery of a purpose built build to rent tower dedicated to key workers, establishing a new model for accessible urban housing close to the city. This will be followed by two further stages of private residential development that will complete the precinct and deliver a significant new neighbourhood within Sydney’s inner west.

Working in collaboration with DKO and Place Design Group, we developed the vision for the ground floor precinct and retail environment, ensuring the public interface of the development contributes to the revitalisation of Parramatta Road. Our work focuses on creating an active and welcoming streetscape with cafés, local retail and community uses integrated throughout the base of the buildings. We are currently working with landcom to deliver the first stage of the retail precinct.
