477 Pitt Street

An anchor in Sydney’s Tech Central Precinct.

477 Pitt Street is a CBD precinct in Tech Central with significant heritage structures The Fire Station (c1857) and The Manse (c1846). We worked alongside Wardle and ISPT to bring them, and the new lobby, to life.

Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, 477 Pitt Street is a landmark commercial redevelopment designed by Wardle that carefully integrates a contemporary workplace tower with a collection of significant heritage buildings. The project brings together new commercial space with the adaptive reuse of historic structures, creating a distinctive precinct that blends modern architecture with the character of Sydney’s historic urban fabric.

A key focus of the redevelopment was the transformation of the ground plane and arrival experience. Our role centred on the retail repositioning of the building and the design of the lobby café environment, ensuring hospitality and shared spaces activate the entry and connect the tower more directly with surrounding streets.

Working alongside Wardle, we also developed a strategy for the activation of The Manse and one of Sydney’s oldest freestanding cottages, shaping how these heritage buildings could be brought back to life through hospitality. Partnering with leading operators, the historic structures have been reimagined as Ennui, a highly regarded restaurant that celebrates the architectural character of the restored buildings while establishing a vibrant new destination within the precinct.
