99 Lorimer Street in Fishermans Bend is a major mixed use precinct planned for one of Melbourne’s most important urban renewal areas. The project brings together new homes, hotel, workplace, community facilities and a generous green public heart, creating the foundations for a new neighbourhood within the Lorimer precinct.
Working alongside Architectus, our role was to develop the retail vision and master plan for the site. The strategy centred on a people first lifestyle precinct anchored by an urban grocer, strong hospitality, everyday services, wellness, medical, community space and fine grain specialty retail.
The plan was shaped around how people would use the precinct each day, from morning coffee and groceries to lunch in the sun, wellness appointments, wine bars and dinner with friends. As Fishermans Bend continues to evolve, 99 Lorimer has the opportunity to set a strong benchmark for how retail, landscape and public life can come together in a new part of Melbourne.
