Retail Strategy Group worked alongside Architectus on the retail master plan for Brookfield Place, creating the vision for a major transit oriented precinct at the heart of Wynyard. Our work translated this vision into the master plan, shaping how retail, hospitality, workplace and transport could come together within one of Sydney CBD’s most strategically connected destinations.

Brookfield Place Sydney has redefined the Wynyard precinct as a contemporary commercial, retail and hospitality destination at the gateway to one of the CBD’s busiest transport interchanges. Positioned within the heart of Sydney’s civic spine, the precinct benefits from significant commuter, worker and visitor movement, strengthened by the pedestrianisation of George Street and direct connections to Barangaroo via Barangaroo Walk. Anchored by global flagship retailers, premium hospitality and a European inspired food hall, the retail vision was structured to support a concentrated workplace population while creating a more active and connected city experience.
In collaboration with Architectus, our team contributed to the retail vision and master planning for approximately 7,000 square metres of retail space across twin concourse levels and the George Street frontage. We also provided retail services advisory and detailed commercial structuring to support the delivery of a high performing retail environment. The framework carefully considered vertical circulation, station integration and street level connectivity, responding to commuter flows between George and Carrington Streets.
The result is a cohesive, transport integrated retail precinct that supports a premium workplace address, drives activation throughout the day and reinforces Brookfield Place Sydney as one of the CBD’s most strategically positioned retail destinations.
