The Sydney Metro West Stations Package represents one of the largest infrastructure development bids in Australian history, forming a major component of the new Sydney Metro West line connecting Greater Parramatta with Sydney’s CBD. Valued at approximately $2.8 billion, the project includes the delivery of five major underground stations that will act as gateways to the future metro network while catalysing surrounding precinct development.

Working with Gamuda throughout the competitive design and procurement process, we supported the consortium in securing the contract to deliver stations at Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and The Bays. Each station sits within a strategically important urban location and will play a key role in shaping the future identity and public life of these emerging precincts.

Our role focused on developing compelling station environments during the design competition phase. Collaborating with several leading architects, we helped shape highly localised and context-specific responses for each site, ensuring the proposals responded to surrounding neighbourhood character, public space opportunities and future precinct growth.

Through this process we helped develop a coordinated vision for how retail, hospitality and public life integrate with the station experience. The result was a series of distinctive station environments to position Gamuda’s proposal as a compelling and community-focused submission across all five sites.
